What Makes Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao So Special

June 26, 2010 by BayanihanTayo.com 15 Comments

Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao is an inspirational person, not just because he is a fellow Filipino but because he has great qualities that make him special.

He came from nothing and made something of himself. A rags to riches story that seems so unreal, something that you would only think was possible in movies or books. Who would have expected a poor Filipino kid with no formal education, spoke little English, and living on the dirty and impoverished streets of General Santos City, Philippines would become as famous and respected as he is today. It is a story that inspires many poor young Filipinos growing up in the baryo/barrios who rely mainly on hope and faith to keep them strong while they live in harsh third world conditions.

Through his Catholic faith which was instilled to him by his mother Dionisia, Manny Pacquiao was able to look always at the positive and never succumb to the weakness of being a negative human being. The devil makes you hate, and makes you jealous and bitter, Pacquiao had all the chances to become an angry and negative person due to his circumstances but with his strong faith he persevered.

He believed in himself that he had a purpose in life, that God had a destiny for him and it came true. Pacquiao is living the dream, he is rich and famous all over the world but he never forgets where he came from, and is so thankful for the blessings that he has received. With his fame and fortune he wants to help his fellow countrymen by giving them hope that they too one day can make something of themselves.

Pacquiao’s inspiration doesn’t only touch the lives of Filipinos but many of those who are in down and out situations, people from all over the world look to his story for inspiration. At the hospital my cousin works at a beautiful young American nurse told me that she is a big fan of Manny Pacquiao, she said that when she saw him on HBO 24/7 she was intrigued by his story, so, she decided to look him up online and the more she learned about Manny the more she said he inspired her to never give up in life and made her fall in love with boxing as well. She like everyone else wants to see Manny Pacquiao fight Floyd Mayweather Jr.

No matter how much success, fame, and riches Manny receives he remains humble and treats everyone from the poor to the rich equal.  That is something rare in this day and age because many famous celebrities lose their religion or spirituality and start believing they are God’s themselves. The adoration of fans, the money and fame doesn’t go to his head, this shows how strong Manny is mentally compared to the other celebrities who fall victim to the trappings of fame and fortune. He uses his wealth not for selfish gifts but for positive selfless things that will help the poor people around him like building schools, donating school supplies and investing in businesses to supply more jobs.

Manny Pacquiao you are an inspiration, one of the greatest boxers alive, but most importantly a humble man of faith who never forgot where he came from. A true living legend.

God Bless and Mabuhay Ang Pilipinas!

Manny Pacqiao is indeed an inspiration. He opened the eyes of people around the globe to look at the Philippines. Hes impact for the Filipino people is very positive.

Millions look at him as an inspiration. Hes sincerity and intention to help those in need has been great so far. If he continues to go and bring the honor and dignity in the next chapter of his life (politics), then I must say that he is credible to run the country.

Marijuana smoker. iyotness and Ms Manganda: you should all be ashamed of yourselves. This is a very serious matter and you are all spreading your stains and dirt to this otherwise clean topic. Please, keep your crabs to yourselves.
Manny Pacquiao is one in a million guy that we ought to idolize. He is an inspiration to people who dream about good life and fortune. More power to you Manny. May your tribe multiply!!!!!!!!!!

This is once in a lifetime that a Filipino like Manny is one of a kind. Someone to look-up, someone to be proud, someone who has values compared to other people like him who became famous. Manny’ legacy will always stay. So, guys unite and Manny’s honor is your honor too. Enjoy the fun.

You said can anyone do that in other countries? the answer is no…because other countries have a life, they dont revolve around one person like Pacquiao. That shows how pathetic the philippines is they revolve around one man.

Philippines got nothing going for them all they got is sex tours and bootlegs, they are a third world crap hole and have a shitty political system.

Philippines aint shit without the United States saving their ass from the Japanese so be grateful cause your country has a weak army with primitive weapons.

without US backing you country aint shit.
